Count Your Many Blessings

There are a few things that have been on my mind the last few weeks. I think that has been circulating about in there is my father. He goes in for surgery tomorrow morning on his foot. Normally most people would be fine with that. Sick leave from work, time to rest at home and so on, but it is harder for my dad to heal. He is the strongest man that I know. He is also the most charitable. I don't know many men who are driving along and see a man walking and have the impression to stop and give the man a ride. May dad did this one day that I know of. He gave the man a ride to the bus station in Salt Lake and then felt impressed to give him $20. It turned out the man was on his way to Alabama and hadn't eaten for some time. He is also one of the most educated men that I know of. I haven't found one teacher with a Ph.D that has that kind of intellect. If I have a question about the gospel, he can tell me the book, the page, and what paragraph it is. Oh, and it is usually a Hugh Nibley book that is 600 pages long. I hope that my father's surgery goes well and that his doctor will have an open mind and be guided my the spirit on what to do. I am confident that everything will go well! I think this surgery will be for the best and it will all work out.

As a hydrology class we went down to Idaho Falls to the Hydro Electric Power plant. We toured the site, and we were taken down to see the turbine that generates power by the Snake River flowing through it. We went down underneath it and then climbed up through the turbine. It felt as if we were in a submarine or something. It was fun to see how it works. We then went to the sewage treatment plant and that was interesting in and of its self.
We then drove down to Twin Falls and saw the Snake River Canyon and it is very wide and deep. We continued down on to Thousand Springs and discussed the water rights issues were it all started. People just need to realize what is best for the environment and the economy. There needs to be a balance between the two. If we don't take care of the environment then we will not be able to have any profit.
Over all a great day. I also just bought a new phone. The Motorola Moto Z6c World Edition. It is a slide phone. I like it, but I do miss my old one.

No Line On The Horizon

Well the U2 Album, No Line On the Horizon came out today. I have already had it for a few days, but have been listening to it all day. I have two songs that really make the Album. Magnificent. It has a good beat, has some quality U2 in it and is new and just a little different than some of their older stuff. I know that a lot of people do not like Get on Your Boots. I really like this song. It took me a while to warm up to it, but it is good. It has a faster tempo that I like in some songs. The music video junk, but it is a good song. I guess that my niece Grace has heard it and loves it. She is 3 and sings the lyric and dances to it. I think people expected more than what was really there from U2. They tried new things, but stayed with some core roots in some of these songs. They are different, but so is Viva La Vida. I think the X&Y is Coldplay's best. A lot of people didn't like Rattle and Hum, but we needed it to get Achtung Baby. Pop was needed to get All That You Can't Leave Behind. This album is much better than Pop and Zooropa.
