Field Camp: Week Three

This week was spent in the Caribou National Forest. We measured sections on Monday and Tuesday. We had rain on Tuesday morning from about 8-10 am. Then a nice clear day. We started mapping the area on Wednesday and rapped up on Thursday. It was quite the adventure between no restrooms, misquotes, ticks, cows, and the heat. Overall a great week. To answer some questions about week one in the the Book Cliffs, no that was not Nine Mile Canyon, it was near Thompson Canyon.
Week two was spent in the Gros Ventre area near Jackson Hole, WY. We measured section on Monday and Tuesday and divided up into groups to map two areas. We had afternoon thundershowers, and a lot of rain. A great area to spend the week.

Field Camp Week One: Done

Week one is done. The Book Cliffs in South-Central Utah were amazing! It was great understand something that I have seen many times and have things click. When we left Rexburg it was around 50 degrees and raining. When we were down there the next day it was just over 100 degrees. Just a great time!

Next week it is suppose to snow in the Gros Venture range where we will spend week two.

It begins on Monday, Field Camp. After a few years of hearing all the Geology batches ahead of me mention it. I get to experience it.
